Goat is looking for a Junior Accountant to support the US finance team as the business continues to grow and change following its acquisition by GroupM. This role’s main focus is on the smooth processing of day to day finance activities for the US unit across AP, AR, monthly reporting and payroll. This is a wide ranging and expansive role, with plenty of opportunity for growth for the right candidate as Goat continues to integrate into the GroupM/WPP ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

• Process Client and Inter-company invoices, and support the initial stages of the credit control process, including chasing trade debtors and posting/matching cash receipts

• Support on the processing of supplier setup, PO requests and purchase invoice approvals

• Support the bi-monthly payroll process in coordination with the Goat and GroupM finance teams

• Processing of weekly supplier payment runs, including generating system reports and uploading files to the banking platform

• Preparation of bank reconciliations for US Bank accounts, including foreign currency revaluations

• Help prepare financial reports and support the US Finance Manager with the month-end close process

• Administration of tax compliance and fillings (such as collation of W9s/W8s to support 1099 filing)

• Management of the monthly intercompany reconciliation process with other GroupM/WPP entities

• Supporting the wider Goat US team and the wider finance team with ad hoc queries as required

•Support internal and external audit processes and perform monthly internal control activities to ensure compliance and accuracy

Requirements

• Minimum 1-2 years of professional accounting experience

• Proficient with excel, including pivot tables, SUMIFS, and VLOOKUP

• Experience across day to day finance, including processing of AR, AP, reconciliation of banking transactions and tax compliance.

• Interest in supporting senior members of the finance team with ad hoc information/requests

Skills and experiences

• Experience of either Sage50 or MediaOcean ERPs
• Working towards a CPA is nice to have but not required
• B.A in accounting or similar major preferred
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Knowledge of GAAP
• Good attention to detail
• Experience supporting month end reporting on a relatively short timescale
